Eye Of Horus® COSMETICS

Ancient Egypt’s Eye Of Horus symbol is iconic and strong, lasting for millennium as a symbol of regeneration, health and protection. While the re-design is enhancing to this aim and also serves to create an even stronger semiotic communication with clean geometry juxtaposed with sexy tapering curves.

As a result the original Egyptian icon is respected with very subtle variations in the new form. Furthermore variations in the eyebrow and eyeliner present a modern cosmetic finesse that upholds the Eye Of Horus Cosmetics product range.

Also a beauty spot has been introduced as a contemporary touch to connect it to modern times.

A diamond frame holds the eye, inspired by the Egyptian pyramids when seen from a bird’s eye view. This element adds another layer of meaning to the logo as Horus is the eagle deity. The diamond and choice of font enhance the eye giving a contemporary feel to the logo through juxtaposition of clean angular lines.

Finally when used on the end of a product package the diamond would effectively rotate the eye 45 degrees which nods to the old logo and helps to familiarize the new for loyal Eye Of Horus Cosmetics customers.
