This highly detailed 3d model of a turbine jet engine was designed using a combination of different software such as 3D Studio Max, AutoCAD, Rhino 3D, and then the final touches were added in Photoshop.

strategy

With literally hundreds of individual parts that needed to be modeled, textured and rendered for these images to be created. Some key strategies were implemented in the process to make it possible due to the complexity of the completed object. X-Referencing, a type of proxy object placement, was crucial for effective manipulation and rendering due to it’s ability to reference (instead of actual) duplicate objects  to free-up memory. Without X-Referencing only a super-computer would handle this object.
